La Paz immigration ofc - open Nov 20?

Does anyone know if November 20, the Mexican Revolution Day is a government holiday? I’m trying to figure out if the La Paz immigration office will be open that day.

We’ll be driving north from Los Barriles to San Diego, leaving on the 20th and need to get an FM-3 stamped out and get a red form (FM-E) validated. Normally on a driving trip we don’t mess with any stamps, but on this trip I’m driving round trip while my wife is flying down, then driving back up with me. Messy from a paperwork standpoint…

First thing we’ll try is to get the immigration agent at Los Cabos airport to stamp her out right after stamping her in, but I think that’s a longshot. Next option would be to stop at the immigration office on the Malecon in La Paz when we drive north on Nov. 20th. If that is a holiday then I guess our last shot would be the immigration office in Ensenada on Nov. 21 (We leave GN too early to get it there).

Thanks for any suggestions!

Jeff

Some changes have been in place in México for the past few years, one of those would be moving the official holiday to a Monday or Friday, depending on the day of the week that it falls on, similar to the US. This initiative of law was promoted by the PRD in 2004
http://prdleg.diputados.gob.mx/trabajo/iniciativas/ini_98.ht...
As far as the cultural aspects of the celebrations, those wil remain the same, 20 de Noviembre will still be 20 de Noviembre.
Here is a site that gives those dates better
http://www.diariooficialdigital.com/descanso.htm

So, everything should be open on Nov 20.

Thank you! I'll figure it is a definite maybe, and will take your advice and call them around Friday.

Gracias...

I just called Migra (La Paz) with your question. They uh... don't know yet. Awaiting word from Mexico City, he thought they'd get it next week sometime.

You might save yourself some time by calling a few days beforehand: 612 125-3493.
