Osprey

On our last trip (in October) we saw lots of osprey fishing. I happened to catch this one showing off...

Terrific shot, Greg
I have always been fascinated by the way they carry the fish head first, like they know aerodynamics.

Thanks everyone! It was just a lucky shot - taken just after it took the plunge to catch the fish and was shaking off the water as it flew back to its perch ...

It could be because they are chasing the little fish from behind and that's just the way it turns out! Hummmm....?

another bird and prey...not in baja

Great photo Gringorio.

Reminded me of a friend's favorite photo he took in 2006. He's an amateur but it has won some awards.

Not for the faint hearted.
