I was playing with my macro lens and a toad. He is not much more than an inch in length.

Good shot...little fuzzy at the back.
Never seen one like that...red spots look scary. Are they a defense mechanism? I would not pick that little guy up for sure

Bajadogs, what a beautiful toad. I could just kiss it. Maybe she will turn into a beautiful Princess if I do.

Leo,
There are many of these guys spending their evenings around the accent lighting at Hotel El Moro in La Paz. I assume they are taking advantage of the
insects who are also attracted to the lights. This toad was stuck in an empty hot tub so my daughter rescued him.
How did I attach it? Photoshop compression to less than 50k. I've been working with Photoshop since before it became a verb.
Thanks

suckin' them hop toads suckin' them pluckers
suckin' them leaf types, suckin' them suckers
lookin' at them toad suckers ain't they snappy,
suckin' them bog frogs sure make them happy'
now, a hugger-mugger toad sucker way down south
puttin' them sucky toads in they mouth
how to be a toad sucker, no way to duck it
grab yourself a toad and rare back and suck it-
"Saturday night toad suck song"
I believe it perpetuates the medicinal properties of toad skin excretions...

Looks a lot like the famous toad from the famous "Seņor Sapo's" in La Paz. Once attended an all day all night all day combination Toad Throw and Cane
Liquor "lights out gulp". Many people were killed.

That's a red-spotted toad, I believe. Really. Quite appropriate. The canyons upslope from Loreto are filled with them after rain events. Several
years ago there were so many up the river after a hurricane that it seemed as if the ground was moving. They disappear when the water dries up and
appear again when there is water. Amazing creatures.

Great shot - cool looking toad. Also, nice depth of field with the composition. The best advice I've ever gotten when photographing animals is to
make sure their eyes are in focus...

How about Them Toad Suckers,
Ain't they clods?
Sittin' there suckin'
Them green toady-frogs.
Suckin' them hop-toads,
Suckin' them chunkers,
Suckin' them leapy types,
Suckin' them plunkers.
Look at Them Toad Suckers,
Ain't they snappy?
Suckin' them bog-frogs
Sure makes'em happy.
Them huggermugger Toad Suckers,
Way down south,
Stickin' them sucky-toads
In they mouth.
How to be a Toad Sucker?
No way to duck it.
Gittchyself a toad,
Rare back and suck it!

Yup, a red-spotted toad all right.
They bury themselves in my yard during the day and come to the surface at night to eat bugs by my yard light.
That's near Sntiago.
Great Picture!
