Mulege Entrance

I almost drove right past the main entrance to Mulege. What the heck is this? Interesting priorities!

They are also in the process of constructing a "Malecon" along the north side of the river, near the east side of the bridge. Can you believe that?

I think we are looking at the septic tank (see Bob H's photo) :o

Regarding Shark's photo, that is the sentry tower at the entrance to Mulege as all of Mulege becomes a gated community....makes us feel special. ;)

Looks like a lot of work has been done on the entrance since we were there in September. I was wondering then what was being built.

Mulege's Tower of London

Yes, Gentle Readers, our fair community has entered the 21st century in its own inimitable style, a hybrid of NeoDesert Gothic Moorish. This architectural theme is reflected in the new hospital, too.

Its all about cultural sensibilities... and yes, I'm just waiting for a aligator to crawl up out of the moat and bite somebody's tire!;D

Tony. I like your gated community idea. Put in a parking lot across the highway from the Tecate store, build an overhead skyway and have little trams on the move all over town and down both sides of the river!!

Oh those silly Gringos. They have no concept of architecture. All they really want is a place with no dirt, kids or music. Bueno suerte.

Maybe it won't be so in-your-face when they paint it.
