Well George, today was the search.

Started with 5 desert rails, 1 baja bug, 1 jeep pickup, and one Bronco in searth of Agua Caliente de Candolfi.

Lost two rails by the fossil beds, 1 with a hole in the transmission from a rock on Zoo road, and the other to escort back home.

The sand is damp so no dust problems, to the west the Sierra is covered with snow. All in all, a nice day to search.

Got to within a few hundred feet and could not drive up the hill, so 6 of us took off walking. Up the hill - around the hill - down in the wash - up the hill. Finally showed 48 feet away but every direction I walked got farther away???????

In all our searching we found no indications that there was ever Agua Caliente at this spot - and no rocks etc indicating a community of any kind.

When you're down, George, you can check it out but it's a nice spot on a hill near the Huatamote wash. Ocotillo all green - little grass sprouting - great spot - just no Agua Caliente.

Thanks for the effort. It doesn’t surprise me I’m always suspicious of things I only find on 1 map;but I love to go looking.
Did you make a loop down thru Agua Caliente and out Huatamote?
What was the mileage? How long did it take? How was the road? Ok for the girls on ATV’s? Did you look at Agua Caliente?

Didn't go to Agua Caliente Canyon, just out Zoo road and down to the road into Huatamote wash, then down the wash and back to San Felipe on Old Puertecitos Road - Total miles - about 90 - girls on quads OK.

Some whoops as it's used for racing but nothing too bad now. Will be worse after the 250 for sure.
