Two Tijuana Policemen Arrested

Two Tijuana Municipal Police Officers were arrested for assaulting a tourist in the Northern Tijuana Zone. The Officers declared that they do not know why they are being accused. They said that the person reporting the incident did not identify them as the ones who assaulted them (No mention if it was a man or a woman tourist) and feel their arrest was due to a misunderstanding.

Al, the details are very sketchy in the report filed today by http://www.frontera.info/

The headline states Caen dos policías por 'asalto'. The article is dated December 11, 2007 and it is today’s headline. That must be when the incident occurred. They only say "Zona Norte."

Bancoloser, go back to third grade and update your reading comprehension. The article says a tourist, and two policemen. Knucklehead.

I bet the Jefe didn't get his share. That is the only reason for the arrest.:?:

On December 11, 2007, two Auxiliary Police Officers were arrested in Tijuana for stealing $100.00 dollars from a tourist’s wallet while searching the tourist. The police officers were identified as Saúl Solís López and Iván Hernández, both 28 years old and who patrolled the North Zone of Tijuana. What the two police officers did not realize was that the tourist was being used in an undercover sting operation. When the tourist went to the Municipal Police Station to identify the two police officers, Police Supervisor Miguel Romero the police station supervisor declared that all of his police officers were present for inspection by the tourist. During the identification process it was revealed that all were present with the exception of two. It appears that Police Supervisor Miguel Romero forgot to mention that fact when reporting that all were present and accounted for. When the two missing police officers were brought in the tourist made a positive identification of the two new arrivals. Police Supervisor Miguel Romero was fired.

Edit: There was no Sting Operation. What happened was that the tourist was outright assaulted and robbed by the two Auxiliary Police Officers. A regular Tijuana Police Officer found the tourist and came to his aid. That is when the tourist was taken to the police station and later identified the two responsible for the assault and robbery.
