Crossing at Tecate?

I have never crossed at Tecate. Any advice or recommendations of where to stay or camp on the US side the night before? We would like to make Catavina the first day...is this possible? How much extra time will this add opposed to crossing at Tijuana? Anything we must see on the way? Our final destination is Alejandros.

Thanks in advance.
austin.

Austin......

Close to the Tecate crossing is, or was the Portrero campground, a few miles east on the 94. It may have been consumed in the last fires, not sure.
It wont add any time to your trip south and it's a beautiful drive from TKT to Ensenada. Free as well.

Have a great trip.

To Cataviņa in a day should not be a problem. We have made it to San Ignacio by sunset- 5:30. Tecate is a piece of cake. Drive safe and have a great trip.

etit - lame typo
