VivaBaja.com has brand NEW look!
The past few days, with the help of my web host... I have been updating the links at VivaBaja.com... Several were no longer active, so they have been
removed. A new photo was added to the Baja Missions section and a new link (BajaTrekker.com) has been added...
With all these new changes, I thought a whole new look for the home page was in order!
The web site began in Feb., 2000 as 'DavidKsBaja.com' with a big Baja from space image background, since then two different background designs have
been used... Now a new image...
As always, VivaBaja.com is a place for the Baja explorer or off highway traveler to get ideas and information for future trips, get some basic history
of the past, create some excitement and to see and preserve the beauty of Baja's historic and natural wonders.

I checked at a resolution of 1024 and my normal setting of 800 and both look fine... Bigger than 1024, the image fractures... But that high a setting
sure shrinks text to unreadable almost... not sure of why you would want it that tiny?
Setting up Baja (and other) web sites is my web host's profession... if there is a reason for how he did it, then it must be a good one?
EDIT ADD: Got this back from my host:
"On very large (> 1024 x 768) sizes
the background will repeat.
That is a very small number of users...."
So, it will be good for the majority of monitor settings...

David- Visited your website for the first time today, I am looking forward to the exploration of your presentations of your Baja experiences. By your
standards I am a Baja virgin but learning is an integral part of my life and Baja is one of my top learning adventures. I look forward to viewing
"your Baja" and maybe someday my view will be as respected as yours. Keep up the good work.

I think it's beautiful. On Simone's screen (wide) I get 4 backgrownd pictures, maybe that is what lencho is saying? It doesn't work on a wide screen.

It looks great David. I get what appears to be a vertical piece of the left side of the image on the right side of the screen, if that makes any
sense. Maybe that is what you mean by "fractured". ++Ken++

Simone does web development, basicaly it's what we do for a living right now and she's always looking at that precise thing because of all the new
screens. On our older computer screens it fits perfectly and looks great.
Here is what I see, I guess lenchos screen is even bigger:

Again, thank you for taking time to comment...
Perhaps there are more of you with ultra high resolutions on your monitor than we would guess?
Of course VivaBaja.com is not a commercial site, just a place where I put my trip photos, maps and lots of great links to other useful baja sites...
So, it isn't a crisis that the image is fractured at those higer than normal screen resolutions.
I have notified my host of your comments Cervisin, and a link to this thread... for his information. Thank you again...
Most of us with a screen resolution of 1024 or 800 will see one large image of Bahia San Luis Gonzaga behind the text and links on my home page: http://vivabaja.com
Those who have the need to set their resolution to 1200 or higher will get an image like Lencho or Ferna posted, above.

The site works just fine regardless if there is one photo of Gonzaga behind the text, or several...
As I said, my web host has the link to this thread and Cervisin's possible solution.
He may very well make a change... If not and too many of you are distracted by the background, I may just go to a plain, boring one...?
If anything, this thread has attracted more Nomads to at least look at the site... which is not at all about the home page photo, but about what's
INSIDE!

Gonzaga Bay will be okay... That's where Mision Santa Maria received supplies, off loaded on the shore pictured.
