Telnor DLS with VOIP

I use telnor's DSL called infinitum. I am supposed to be getting 2MB speed, but normally I am way lower. It seems like they are slowing down the connection because of my VOIP connection. I say this b/c when I unplug the conenction to voip from the modem it gets very fast. The only other thing I can think of is that I am using a wireless connection and my usb adapter is a cheap piece of ****. I normally get three bars so the connection seems decent. anyone having similar issues?

interesting article http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2007/04/25/2554652.htm

I use Vonage with my TelMex Prodigy infiinitum DSL service. No problems, better than OK quality, tons of free features (such as e-mailing me the voicemails) and the ability to take my USA phone number with me anywhere I move or travel to. I connect the Vonage unit directly to the Telnor DSL hub by a network (CAT5) cable though

the article does state that tlenor is lifting the restriction so that shouldnt be the problem. I also connect via cat 5 cable. My VOIP compnay is viatalk and after several months of being in mex the blocked my ability to call mexican numbers saying it i sagainst there policy. I guess they can see that I get internet through a mex company. Total BS. I paid for a year and got a year free, so whne this expires I will prob jump to vonage.

Yup, every internet server you connect to knows the origin (Mexico) of your IP address. That's why you sometimes have trouble using USA and State gov't websites from Mexico such as making DMV appointments on line. No way around it.

I am in San Felipe. I have made DMV Appointments from here. I also set up and applied for my Social Security from here. The only restriction I have found so far is I can not listen to www.kfi640.com live. I get an intercept message stating FCC rules prohibit them broadcasting out of the United States. I can and do get their podcasts daily, I just can't listen live.

two words; proxy and annonymizer...thats all I will say, google them. No need for anyone to see where your connection is originating.
