Larry,

Ours is wrapped totally in duct tape.
And since it ran all the way around half the house, we enclosed it in Styrofoam molding and finished it off like it "belonged". Keeps the weather off of it.

I think my photographic memory ran out of film

here in NC they use flexible PVC jackets that come pre-moulded in the shape of elbows, t's etc.

I have also seen it used on a large scale job I worked on in AZ. Easy to install

it is UV resistant and rated for indoor or outdoor use.

proto UV resistant PVC jackets

Not very expensive from what I hear but not sure what it costs

They are indeed split. On the job that I was working they were pop riviting it shut but i suppose you could tie wrap it with UV resistant black tie wraps.

Larry...what Baja bus is offering is world class...if you can find it in Baja??? and for god sake do not use duct tape... that is a 20 minute patch in the sun...well that is what it seems like...it does protect for as long as it last...slightly longer then 20 minutes, but looks like hell in a short time.
My suggestion is until you can get PVC covers, is to use UV tire coating to extend the life...what is left...looks bad. guessing... if you use a tape...use something that has a metallic...silver, finish...if the adhesive is not too heat sensitive it will last a few years.
Interesting issue...
