Just had them installed here in La Paz....on the 3rd house I've built....Used the same supplier for all 3 casas! Hirales Vidrio & Aluminio
124-2723 Owner is Jorge; doesn't speak English, nor do his workers. He custom manufactures all types & styles from square to arch tops &
sliding doors & screens.
Edit: You looking for metal front door, glass & metal or wood? Metal or wooden interior doors? I have La Paz people I'd recommend for either!

Vinyl windows...
I truly do not have an answer to "Vinyl" " windows" as of yet.... I am in the window/ glass bussines.. My windows are loaded in my Tahoe / trailor,
to take down to Loreto right now.. I have some wood / exterior claded aluminum windows for my bedroom and a few Vinyl, one of which faces west so we
shall see,,,,,, Use aluminum if you can,, The vinyl ,I do not think is going to stand up to the sun. I will see with my own use. A must is the new
low-e #240 tint...Price- less in blocking the sun razes... About 72% blockage of the suns long sun rays ,"heat"..

personal experiences?? I got lost on the "loosing everything".....
msawin, I've used white vinyl clad aluminum for all windows & sliders, first place I built is 8 years old & all vinyl is in good shape. I
think the white reflects the sun rather than absorbing the heat.

Isn't that what they said over 20 years ago when they were introduced to the construction market?
Not that there is anything wrong with a quality aluminum window.
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

you can't hardly buy anything BUT plastic in southern california anymore...
no aluminum
not energy efficient and too costly
my neighbors have had plastic for ten years and they still look NEW!!!
the ONLY glass in southern california sold with NEW windows is double pained energy efficient glass
not available here in mulege
you need to watch out when you purchase...and get "block-frame" if you are building with concrete...
these are "special order" in southern california as there are NO block houses there...
there IS a good supplier in ensenada now for windows...

vinyl...
Amsco windows have been a perty good line of windows.
I rate windows on maintance / fixing problams. That is my bussines. A problem with a lot of vinyl is the little glazing bead that holds on to the
glass edge, trim. When it fails, and cracks, and breaks its gone. You can not repalce. I'am trying a few almond colored windows..... we will see..
Low-e #240..

vinyl
thanks for the replies. I was leaning toward the vinyl vs. alum., due to the salt air. I will check out the windsor and the ansco products. It would
be great to find a good product and not have to transport them down.
thanks brian
