Whale Watchers
As reported by Elena Moreno of the Todos Santos Eco Cafe Series: Yesterday morning there were more that six whales feeding in front of the La
Poza lagoon, most were less than fifty feet from shore.
Exciting time of year along the Baja California coast.

More on their way!
Yesterday Dern and I were checking out the surf at Montana de Oro and saw a conga line of spouts heading south. Maybe five or six in a row heading
that direction.

I was in Guerrero Negro yesterday and am in San Ignacio as I type and they have whales in both places.
Tours are going out daily and there are no crowds.

Yesterday we saw 6 or 7 of them off the coast of Monterey... heading south they were, but they stopped and played (or fed?) for about 40 minutes.
Made me smile real big.

The grayparade is coming by Asuncion daily as well....last week a poor little baby beached in town and the surf club boys managed to get it back into
deeper water and it swam away but the mom was not anywhere in sight so there is little hope of survival for this little critter.
When a baby gets separated from mama, they get tired and have to rest so they come into the beach to rest for a bit and then strand if the tide is
going out. They can last a few days without food but don't make it unless they are rescued and brought to Sealand. It appeared the baby had got
tangled in a lobster trap. sad.
