Jeez, this makes El Chino sound like a saint.

But is it true? What is M.P. ?

I would think that guys like Jesse and Aldo would have come in contact with this system, if true.

And Gnukid,
Maybe there is a La Paz public relations job somewhere in your future
:?::?:
or, if it's that bad,
a one way trip to the Cortez trench, provided by your "alleged" crooked officials :(:biggrin:

Gnukid

I don't know where you find this crap, I have no idea why you still live here, you say nothing good about La Paz. This guy who wrote this knows nothing about La Paz, just look at all the new commercial and homes being constructed. If I was a wordy person like you I would go on and but I won't. Something tells me you might be trying to sell your home but are unhappy with the Realtors here in La Paz, we have found some that will work with and really try to sell your house and only charge you 6% commision.

Have been going to La Paz 3 to 5 times a year for the last 15 years and have only been stopped once for a registration check. Truck was in Non-Op and luckely the cop couldn't read English and went only by the dates and found everything in order.:P

It kind of reminds me of my oldest son when he was in Junior High and High School. All of these things kept happening to him an only him yet he declared that he never did anything wrong. Lots of drama and it turns out, as I suspected, it was his fault.

I spent 4 months living in LaPaz in 2005/6 and walked all around town at all hours of the day, drove friends vehicles without ever being pulled over, etc, etc, etc and never saw a single example of any sorts of the problems that Gnukid describes.

Is there a moral to this story? maybe.

I had a few meals in La Paz, bought groceries a few times there, walked the water, and lived to tell about it!!!! Dios mio!!!

La Paz, Brazil???

It certainly doesn't resemble the La Paz where I live! And I'm RARELY referred to as Pollyanna! GNUKID, you gotta find a new neighborhood & new people to hang out with!

Hook, MP???? I looked back through but my eyes are weary....if there's just a plain old MP in there it didn't jump out at me! I was going to say possibly Ministerio Publico, but all I could find was "Me pushi?" Is that what you were asking about?

Who is this guy?

--Larry

must be some relative of the Grimm Brothers.....

Comitan: you evtl. right. Search the Craiglist - you see a listing that matches quiet well - incl. hotlinking to other people websites and stealing their bandwith.

lizard lips: Must be the lips.... jejejeje. the 8th. year in L.P. vehicles with all 3 plates (frontera, national and US), 1 time pulled over, no vehicle documents on me, no driver licence, no ID, basically speak no spanish - he told me where I live and to have that in future on me and that was it.

Looking at GnuGuys post's - they have a good entertaining value at times (if you have the time to read it all) but seem to be often blown out of proportion.

longlegsinlapaz: good suggestion for gnuguy!!

Take it easy man..... (Gnuguy that is)

"Somebody" removed it - I'll have a copy and try to locate that guy that supposedly wrote that. Not much luck in the search for that writer name etc. so far even if spell correct. maybe Gnuguy can fill us in here on the source.....

That you have not one drop of compassion for those in trouble for nothing other than their silly idea of going out to spend money here in La Paz every night makes me in no way trustworthy of you. To be so complacent of the issue of curruption and extortion of tourists and extranos, which is way obvious, makes it clear you are not someone who either knows what its like or has any experience helping people who visit la Paz.

The article didn't even mention transit extortion like most everyone has experienced where officers withhold licences and threaten to tow and take people to jail daily--they do.

I want to feel sorry for Comitan I imagine you are an old person who has a nice property and doesn't get out much... that might be nice for you but not everyone falls into your shoes... the majority are short term visitors with little experience.

You are a really part of the problem with no support to address the solution so take your blinded views back to your ranchito and let those with some concern for others gather resources and support and possible some checks and balances for La Paz Corruptos.

That's all cool gnuguy but PLEASE: since you posted the write-up: share with us the source so we can elevate to the same level as you ( or descent) and may join you in your fight for a better La Paz....

B.t.w.: thanks for enlighten me. I must real have no idea since I passed almost every neighborhood in this town by day and night... nothing happened. Must been my lucky days...

Well Gnukid I'm old enough to know better than to bang my head against a brick
wall, you are going to have your say and I cannot change that, I'm sure glad I don't associate with the people you do. And as far as the lost article that was just sensationalism journalism just written to get published and maybe get paid, happens every day.
