Flying to Loreto

I checked Price Line for round trip air fare from So. Ca to Loreto and it was $3,000.00 . I thought it would be less than $300. but have not flown in a while so perhaps I am out of touch with current costs for flying.:O

Any ideas on reasonable airfares to Loreto?

I have tried over and over with airline discounters to get better pricing than buying direct from the Alaska Airline Website and buying direct from the website has always been the cheapest. Alaska is running a Spring sale that is the cheapest it's been in a while but it's not like the old days of $225-$300 RT from LAX. I think the sale brings the price down to around $350 with all the taxes. Go to the web site for more information and look for the Spring sale.

It did not say pesos. All other airline quotes were in USD.
I assume Price Line is the same.

I recently tried to book a RT flight out of San Diego. Prices ranged from $460 to $650. Outragious. I eventually abandoned the idea.

Part of the problem is you have to fly to LA first.

Checked TJ flights also no savings there either over the $450 quote.

The quotes I got were out of Lax. some of the flights would take a better part of 24 hrs. due to lay over time. Not for me. Not at those prices. Flights looked pretty well booked too. :fire:

I just tried priceline for some dates in February. LAX was about $450 with all the taxes & San Diego was about $100 higher. Cheapest fares were on Alaska. The other guys were a bit higher.

I wonder if you tried priceline on a day that the flights were sold out or didn't operate?

Be nice if we could get service from the low-cost Mexican airlines. Tijuana to Los Cabos, on Volaris: about $130 US. Round Trip.

I just booked a round trip flight to Hawaii with stops at three different islands for less than I can fly r.t. LAX - LTO. Bottom line is we're getting screwed. Less people flying= higher prices, sounds like the mexican economic response, only its purely norte. Sure would like to see a direct flight Tj (RDG) to LTO. The old Aero Mexico flight SAN to LTO continued on to D.F. That had to be sweet to clear Mex. customs in LTO rather than Mexico City. When I flew that it was usealy about 50-50 with people to Lto or D.F.

I just tried it on Delta and here's a link for you to look at it and see if you can make changes with this that are reasonable http://www.delta.com/booking/retrieveFlights.do?dispatchMeth...

Only flight listed - is nonstop. Price looks terrific.

Tried Delta, direct flight, $329.00 R.T. Planning way ahead helps. I got the price for March flight.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I flew to Loreto on Delta in Sept. about the same price, but I had to fly in on thur and out on tue to get that price. You are going to love the flight, it's a little 60 pass. Brazilian jet opperated by Expressjet. On the way there the pilot buzzed Loreto then made a hard turn to starboard and zoomed in for a landing like a sports car, fun. On the way back there were only 7 passengers. Don't get seat row 19, it's the last row by the bathroom.

I found FAT to LTO was more expensive than than flying from SEA. Going to visit my brother for a day in Seattle and the SEA/LAX/LTO is less expensive. How stupid is that???
