Great whale pics Tortuga...some real classics...the photos of the tail sideways up is of a mama nursing her baby lying on her side so half her tail sticks up! My favorite is the baby with the tail on it's moms back...they rest like this. You also got some excellent photo ID pics which I sould be interested in having with the dates and if the adult in the pictures had a calf or not. ID pics are of the middle section of the whale. Leopoldo is an old friend of ours...there is a funny story about him which I will share with you...he used to be the cook at a little palapa we had for the team to eat at. For many years he would listen to our tales of whales at the end of the day when we gathered for dinner there. Well, when the lagoon started to get busier, they needed more boat operators and so he wanted to be one even though he'd never operated a boat EVER! I must admit, I had reservations about him being out there...so I went out with him alot when he was training and shared my secrets about how to make friends with whales...and lo and behold, he found his way to the whales hearts by being respectful of them and loving them and has enjoyed years of whale watching since. He is a sweet man and I'm glad you got to go out with him. I love your pictures and can't wait to get out there too.
