Is their anyone in the Cabo area that can see what a full size refrigerator costs at the Costco there? Want to see if I should buy one in the States
and bring it down or just by it down there.

Soriana's, CCC, Coppel, Mega have good Korean fridges that use very little electricity -- unless you have money to burn for the appliance and the
never ending power you should buy it down here, do your cost(s) homework -- you can see all those stores in one morning. IMHO

There is also Costco, Home depot and Mega Electra here in San Jose
We bought our last refrigerator from Electra. It wouldnt cool and they took it back no questions asked.

Bought a Whirlpool side by side, with water and ice dispenser, here in Loreto last fall. Priced them in the States for around $ 900.00 to $ 950.00.
Got it here for $1025.00. Not worth the trouble hauling it, paying import fees ,if caught, and all the other drawbacks.
Buy it here.
Now I need a new washer and dryer. Have an electric dryer now, 220V, that I can't find anywhere here. All gas or 110V. Any pertinent info would be
greatly appreciated.

Ken-Whirlpool All the appliances that we have bought here have been whirlpool. We have had our washer for 10 years and when we bought it everyone
said, oh dont buy Mexican. 10 years is pretty good for a washer that does rugs.
Ed-I dont know about 220 dryers but I was surprised how hard it was to find a large gas hot water heater here. Went to Home Depot(they had GE and
plenty of them). Then I went to some of the local plomerias and found one(Rheem) for about the same price and decided to support our local merchants.
Most of the places I went to asked if I wanted electric...electric water heater here...I dont think so. Our old one was A O Smith, also 10 years old
but it spent its first 3 years outside.

Judy,
Have 2 40 gallon gas hot water heaters, both 15 years old and still going strong.
Washer and Dryer, 220v, close to 20 years old and still working. Wife wants to replace them. Go figure !!
If it ain't broke.....and so on

we bought a GE unit at costco about $900
they are different when sold in mexico
if i had to do it again i'd buy one at lowes or home depot
in the states and import it
they are made differently for third world countries

My Gawd, that two month bill is low. Especially with an electric dryer.
Kate...Do you know how many KH [ kilowatt hours ] you use on average per day? It's on your bill. I'm just wondering if Mexico has standard pricing
throughout.

I do believe that there are different rates for electricity according to where you property is. I have no proof of this but I do believe it.

I guess there is a difference . My usage is 5.16 KWH per day and the bill is 400 Ps. I'm thankful though since most of my neighbors bills are much
higher.

Ed...you need to get rid of that 220 dryer for sure
I line dry all of my clothes but if I were to buy a dryer it would be propane.
I think that Ed's bill may prove my point about where you are....

Ed....What's your KWH usage per day and what are you doing to use that much electricity other than the dryer?

We pay for what we use, maybe more than the average consumer, but with no complaint.
If the need arose we could do with less, but right now we're supporting the electric company.
Our bill in Sacramento was not much different 15 years ago though.
