Over Cab Camper question
We have a short bed 86 ford with a six pack camper.
The mechanic just brought it back(yes we were supposed to leave today...not happening). Anyway, he took it upon himself to secure the camper
shell....I mean secure. Before we had springs on it that allowed it to move around a good bit.
My question is.....Is this going to pull the camper apart. It moves the entire truck if you push on the shell which for a load is a good thing but I
dont know about a camper. We got it from Chuck at Wahoo so I believe that he would have had the best set up on it.

So did he remove the side tie downs and maybe bolt the camper to floor of the truck bed? - This is very bad.. or did he replace the spring tie downs
with rigid ones. Some give is good esp on rough baja roads and gusty headwinds. No give means stress on the camper stucture. If you had Happijac
spring tie downs these are rather pricy- maybe he wanted them for his own rig?!

He replaced the springs with rigid ones.
My guess is that the hooks he has them in will pull out first.
I will let you know how this works out.

Hi Judy....Interesting Subject......After alot of agonizing work repairing two overhead truck campers because of rough road use and alot of trial and
error, I came to the conclusion that a large (2"thick) piece of closed cell foam installed between the truck bed and bottom of camper and solid
turnbuckle mounts adjusted just so snug ( not to tight) for the forward most brackets and spring turnbuckles (happijac) for the rears made all the
difference in the world. All of a sudden the doors indide the camper could work as they were originaly designed to do. Good luck. ++C++

Good job, I wouldn't want to sleep on it, and its kind of expensive, and I think that it would be good under a camper but only 1".
