Washingtonians! State That is.
How many Washingtonians do we have on the Nomad board
It takes a special breed of Nomad to make those 3k mile road trips.

Lived in Bremerton, Point No Point, Tahuya & Manchester and worked as a Park Ranger fo Kitsap County. But after a couple of round trips I was
fortunate enough to be able to move down here. I do miss the trees and fishing & hunting but not the clouds & cold.

do you mean Washington State?
for those of us from Washington-D.C. who call ourselves Washingtonians and have a local magazine of the same name, and were Washingtonians when
Washington state was still part of the Spanish empire--(pet peeve)

capitolkat, Nice to have a pet peeve. I suppose the population of DC would rival that of the whole State of Washington and it certainly has a lot more
influence on what happens in the world. I always thought the confusion between the two irritating also. So, since you're there with the movers and
shakers maybe you could start a campaign to change the State's name.

Russ-- Ah no -- don't want to change the name of all those brave souls who live the good life in Washington State- just to get them to recognize that
they need to be more specific when they identify themselves, or show the umbrella they always carry so we can distinguish them from the original
Washingtonians--no power broker here- 12 or months or so to retirement in La Paz--

Why does DC get to have delegates when they are NOT a state???? Fishy! What about Guam and Puerto Rico?
btw Kat PNW folks DO NOT use sissy umbrellas. They rot out too fast from the rain.

Sharks
DC has a delegate- non-voting and essentially an office and face with no power. States have representatives and Senators- DC has neither-- not my
issue as I'm a fish out of water in DC concerning political affiliation and any elected official doesn't represent me in any case.

In WA, carrying an umbrella is a dead giveaway that you're a tourist!
Did you know that Seattle sells more sunglasses than any other city?
Guess that's because by the time the sun comes out, we've forgotten where we put the last pair.
I know there's at least two of us on this forum from a little town called Lyle Washington; A small spot in the Gorge with maybe a 1000 people.

Debra, Sounds like fun. And I'd like to see my old haunts. But it sure is a long trip. How about some time in August? Does Seabeck St. Park still have
a small area where they allow drinking?

Steve and I have been making that long run from Whidbey Island to La Paz so often it doesn't seem like a drag any more. .

That sounds like a possibility! We'll be in Olympic National Park, Sol Duc, from mid May until the last of Oct.
