Alfonsinas
Does anyone know if they still have the tether ball pole on the beach? I was planning on bringing down a new ball if the pole is still there.

If you are staying at the motel be prepared as the rates have gone up AGAIN!
$60 a nite for one double bed room
$70 a nite for two double beds 7 $10 extra per persons.
We cancelled!
Im sure its because they are the ONLY game in town!

Wait and see what happens when the pavement comes through there..... oh my! This is just the beginning. Still, $60 for a double doesn't seem that
bad when you think about where you are.... what a beautiful area of Baja! The days of cheap Baja are quickly disappearing.

ALFONSINA'S, San Luis Gonzaga
Located on a sand spit (which connects with San Luis Gonzaga Island at low tide).
Bahia San Luis Gonzaga is to the north of the sand spit (sometimes called 'Willard Bay').
The larger Ensenada de San Francisquito (also called 'Gonzaga Bay' by many) is to the south.
Whatever you call the bay, Alfonsina's is beautiful location and to many, what Baja is all about!
Motel and restaurant, as seen from the beach:
View from restaurant:
Clear water and sea dog:
Great food! The squarecircle and his shrimp dinner:
Great hosts! Antonio and Marta (in center):

The sandspit to the north:
Morning:
Coffee Man on the patio. Anyone know if he is still around?
This is pretty obvious but I'll play the "Where's This" game:

Stunning photos, I especially love the aerials. It's been too long since I was there and I have to ask, what happened to Irma?
Is the food still as good?

Last time I was there, about a year ago, the food was still incredible. I would say, the best fish dinner I have ever had--it equals or beats any
fine cuisine anywhere IMHO.

Ken, the Where's this game photo is Hwy. 1 and 'Hwy. 5' junction at Laguna Chapala... verdad?
El Camote, Irma went back to the city (?) and Antonio brought his new wife Marta to Alfonsina's to take over the cocina.
Nena, those are the finest aerial photos on the Internet of Gonzaga, thank you for posting them again!
