Trucks for sale?
You may have seen my threads advertising my trucks.
What do you think?
I buy trucks in the us and sell them in Baja. I deliver them anywhere in Baja.
I make a buck and get a trip to Baja.
Think it will work?
How about cars? I'm thinking Toyota RAV4s. Chevy Astro Vans.
What is the most desired vehicle to the local population that doesn't have access to the US?
What about boats?

It will work if you earn a reputation for delivering exactly what you say the vehicle is. Customers will be buying your word as well as a car.
Go for it.

I am pretty sure buying cars here and selling them in Baja is illegal.
Plus, are you planning on walking home after you deliver the car?

Is it illegal? I was wondering.
Getting home. North of G. Nergro I'll ride te bus. South of G. Negro I'll fly home.
So I'm driving around with the $ on the back window in white shoe polish with a cell phone number. I see it all the time. Is that illegal?
Also I see guys pulling cars and trucks on dollies.
How would they catch me if I drive it down there unmarked to a pre arranged buyer?

Years ago I knew someone doing this and he had gone through all kinds of hoops to get the paperwork to do so. To tell you the truth at the time I
thought he was still not completely ligit on the program.
Do some homework on this one the penalty could be unpleasant.
Good luck.

I'm all for playing by the rules and all but...
I buy the vehicles here in the states cash. I ask the prior owner to not sign the pink. I take it to baja and exchange for cash. I return home.
How could that go wrong? My name is never on the paperwork! My guess is that it is done that way all the time. The new owner deals with the Mex reg.
He just says he bought it in the US right?

I say go for it. You don't want to get caught and end up in the hoosegow of course, but...you knew that. People do things under the table all the
time. Good Luck...maybe I'll get a Tundra.

Wrong! You can't register an imported car here without producing its documentation ("Pedimento de Importacíon"). People driving around with $ and cell
number on the window are selling cars that are legal. How would they catch you? The first irate buyer who couldn't get plates would report your cell
number, and you could end up taking a much longer Baja vacation than you'd planned.

Couldn't the new owner get the "Pidimento" ? How do people who already have cars down there from the states make them legal? I'm sure there is a way.
I'd work that out in advance so I don't have "irates" turning me in.
That is why I am asking.

Prepaid $30 cell phone. In the trash on my way out of town. New one each trip.
Just like on tv.

Or... I buy the vehicle, go to the Mex consulate here in Santa Ana and get the "Pedimento" and import it legally. Then I sell in Baja. Now what is
wrong with that?

What you doing is 100% illegal. You are smuggling cars into Mexico, a federal offence. Have you ever seen the inside of a Mexican jail, not pretty.
Keep it up and you will soon find out for yourself. What you are doing is really stupid. I think you are a neophyte as far as Mexico is concerned.
GOOD LUCK!

Well, I haven't "done" anything yet. But I'm sure you have already turned me in to your Judicail Police buddies.
Instead of raining on my idea, since you are soo smart about Baja maybe you could tell me how I could do this legally. Since you're so smart and all.

The only way this may have a chance of working, is, if you register the vehicle in your name in California, bring it down here and sell it to a
gringo, who would have to transfer ownership back in California and get the vehicle in his name.
Vehicles are sold between gringos that way all the time.
Better take some time looking into this. Those Mexican slammers are no picnic.

Probably would more profitable to spend more time "marketing" the right way than giving away info here for free.... sometimes telling everything you
know is expensive and seldom productive.....

Thank you Vandenburg. How do I sell one to a Mex citizen?

Elaborating on my own post.
Careful, because if the Mexicans figure out you're doing htis as a business, no knowing what they will do.
