In the market for 2nd/vacation home

Hello all! Just recently I have been attracted to the real estate property in Mexico. I would like to purchase a 2nd/vacation home there and need some advice and suggestions on where to buy. As well as price. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board!!!!

Before you consider purchasing, there are some "homework" items that you need to do.

1. What are you looking for???
2. What items/services do you NEED
3. What items/services do you WANT
4. How close to the border do you want to be.
5. Will you drive or fly to your 2nd home
6. Do you want to be in or near a big city

Once you answer these questions, do some map work.
After the map work, spend time (a lot of time) in the areas that you are interested in. Visit and stay in all seasons. Get out and explore and interact with the locals. Seek out American/Canadian ex-pats in the area and pick their brains.

After you have settled on an area.............review everything above!!!!!

Good Luck!!!

The Punta Banda area is just 2 hours south of San Ysidro and very safe community with lot's to do and lot's of gringo's to do it with. Lots of places in the $50k range on leased property.

So, where are you in Ensenada that gives you a one hour path to the border?
I realize you're trying to pimp real estate in the area but, a little bit of "truth in advertising" would seem appropriate.

I have a place in San Miguel 5-10 in to Ensenada and 1 hour to the border. Getting to the new shopping area is another matter.
I won't go to town if the boats are in.

well dennis seams you speak prematurely again!!!!!, So please suck on my truth in advertising... i live near mike99m and my lots are in the same area. if i go on tuesday and or thursday at 7:30am from my house. i am at the border in 50 min, and at that time its 5 to 10 min to cross..for your info book....

The clients i just finished a house for, here on the cibola del mar hill, where renting a house in your area for 1 year. They always complained about how long it took to get from punta banda to the highway. 1 hour in the summer in the summer.

But maybe you drive at 20mph on the highway? Just for the record!
