"Jammin' For The Animals" Music Benefit on Sunday, March 30 in Todos Santos

From the pages of the Baja Western Onion:

A BENEFIT FOR THE ANIMALS: OK, so some of us were talking about how we could help the El Refugio Pet Sanctuary in Pescadero since their major fund raiser, the Home and Garden Tour, was canceled. So, we came up with "Jammin For The Animals," a music benefit to help Mariposa and Memo to buy dog food for their "kids."

MUSICIANS AND ENTERTAINERS WANTED: We're looking for talent who would like to showcase their stuff. This will be an "Open Mike" opportunity, and should be a really fun event for you, your friends and our community. We would like to hear from musicians, groups, singers and entertainers of all varieties and skill levels so we can plan for the event. Even if you don't play an instrument, other musicians might be able to provide some backup.

NOW APPEARING: We're pleased to announce that we've already received commitments to perform by the very talented Jazz Violinist and Guitarist, Daniel Siqueiros, Jazz and Pop Vocalist, Tracy Monk Durland, and (of course) members of our own quartet, "En Medio Del Ritmo". We'll announce other artists throughout the week in the Baja Western Onion.

AFFORDABLE: Since "Jammin For The Animals" is a non-profit fund raiser, we spent some time thinking about what to charge. We wanted to make it very affordable for everyone, yet still make a little money for El Refugio. We're pleased to announce that tickets are only $10 in advance, and $12 at the door. We think that's a bargain for a day full of good music while helping out for a good cause.

FOOD AND DRINK: Pizza baked to order from La Buena Vida will be available for purchase at the event. Volunteers at the event will take your order and then deliver a fresh, hot pizza right to your table. We'll also be serving free snacks and goodies, and the bar will be open for purchasing beer, wine, c-cktails and soft drinks.

SUNDAY, MARCH 30 at 3:00 PM: Come join us for a day full of good music, food and fun. Tickets are available at El Tecolote Book Store, Maya Roca Realty, La Caņada Del Diablo, and from Maryann Douglas and me. To sign up to perform, please call or e mail me as soon as possible. - Alan, alan (-at-) baja1.com, 612 117 0484.

Our thanks to everyone for helping to make "Jammin For The Animals" happen on such short notice.
