Taking fireworks to Baja

Hi there. My husband and I are heading to the beach at Punta Abreojos with a couple of friends. Several years ago someone gave us some fireworks that are illegal in our area. We're thinking about bringing them with us and setting them off while we're camping on the beach. My question is whether they'll let us bring them into Baja? Thanks, as always, for your help.

We just love it when people bring fireworks to the beach (which I believe is illegal, even in Mexico as it is Federal Zone) and disturb the tranquility, scare the animals, and otherwise annoy everyone else...not to mention all the debris that is left behind to pollute the water and beach, and kill off some of the sealife.

Do everyone a favor and leave your fireworks at home.

Bring your fireworks and set them off whereever you think is safe. Since they are old, they won't be as powerful (which might please some people). But go ahead and fire those bad boys off. Nobody cares!!!

It's kinda like taking sand to the beach. You'll have fun trying to explain those toys to the soldiers at the military checkpoints when they go through your car.

Blow Up

The attitude among those who take retarded pleasure in setting off Fireworks is the reason, over the years, I have so enjoyed the few occasions when I've seen one of them "accidentally" do damage to themselves, children included. I laughed the whole time they were bundling up the last guy for an emergency Med run to San Felipe.

It's too bad that such comedy relief doesn't occur more frequently.

Am I the only retarded "mad bomber" to honor the long history of blasting off skyrockets in Mexico? C'mon all you crazies out there speak up. Are we gonna let those wimps that are afraid of a little fun dominate this dialog?
By the way, where can I get some cherry bombs?
And don't worry about taking the fireworks down in your car. The military never checks the southbound vehicles.

The older you get, the less fun they become... and unless you are the one detonating them, they are just a lot of noise and hurt dogs' ears.

As far as taking them INTO Mexico... who will know, as the searching is almost never done... and fireworks are LEGAL outside of towns.

So, take them to a deserted beach were you annoy nobody, or could start a fire and have fun... but medical help will also be a long ways off, too!!

I believe the answere lies above. Gringos in Baja are there to escape such frivality and juvenile behavior(stickinthemuds). Mexicans on the other hand would most likely welcome them.
