Punta Banda Cafe visited

OK, I need to come clean; I have lived in Ensenada for almost one year and I have NEVER been to the Punta Banda Cafe. But today, there I was, less than a mile away and a little after 4:30 so I decided to stop in and have dinner.

How to find it?
On the road to La Bufadora, go through the little town of Cantu and when you pass by La Jolla Campo, take the road nearest the Primary School that goes toward the
bay (directly across from the road to the Dump/Kennedy Cove). Go to the end of the road and turn right.

First impression; a nice homey place, right on the bay & plenty of parking. The dirt road is a little rough when you first pull off of the asphalt so take it easy.

Understand first off that they are only open on Tuesdays & Fridays. Also that your choices are limited to two or three selections each night. Hours of operation are from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM.

Today being Tuesday the choices were meat loaf or liver & onions. (both were $6.50 dlls) You guessed it; I took the liver and onions! EXCELLENT choice! The liver was flavorful, very tender and served in bite size pieces which I've never had before. Mashed potatoes with gravy were good also.
English peas (canned) were not so great. Would have preferred some frozen peas (or a different veggie) and it would have been perfect. I didn't have room for dessert so I had to pass so couldn't even tell you what was offered.

Oops almost forgot. You have a choice of soup or salad. I chose the soup which was a chicken and pasta and it was pretty good.
I think this Friday the choices are fish & chips or fried shrimp. If you need to call them the phone number is 154-2468.
Definitely a "go back"! If you're headed out to La Buffadora and you're there on the right day at the right time-stop in!
Thanks Punta Banda Cafe.
