Panel W

I was about to kick off construction in La Paz when a product- Panel W was shown to me. the product in available in La Paz, made in Mexico, cheaper than Tri-d or quadlok, appears to have the same or better insulation factor and structural integrity. so my questions --

anybody familiar with this product?

used it to build or seen it under construction?

Know of a building where it was used that I can contact the owner?

I am familiar with Fanosa and the others above so I don't need their rundown- Just Panel W

Thanks-- Norm

Yup.
Yup, used a tiny bit, only inside for an enclosed dropped ceiling in the laundry area. I've seen more go up than I used personally.
Yup, on the beach in Comitan (casa next to Susan & Ira's)

Norm, according to the research I did, I opted for the interlocking foam block because it does have a better insulation factor.

Panel W is more or less diamond shape sections 2" at the widest part tapering down to nothing at the edge of each individual rod-like section, that other interior space gets filled with plaster & it requires a much thicker final interior & exterior plaster. You get appreciably less insulation with 3-4" plaster on each side of a 2" foam core.

Foam block is 6", and foam is continuous throughout the width of the block, including 2" narrowest part interior & exterior surrounding interior cement core & requires a much thinner interior & exterior plaster finish.

I suppose you were hoping to get a response from someone other than me?:lol::lol:

I don't have my shade roofs up yet (1-2 more weeks!) & my interior temp hasn't gone below 68F at night & 71F during the heat of the day; 98F yesterday! If it stays this evenly tempered inside during July/August/September, I won't bother to have the A/C I plumbed for installed!!:bounce::biggrin: I swear by this stuff & I'm not even on Fanosa's payroll!:bounce:

Carol-- I should have known it would be you-- but I'm sure your info is good but there are various panels with varying thinkness of foam. I 'll contact susan to see if the comitan folks have any observations-- thanks as usual-- Norm
