Attention Travelers - Staying home is a bad idea

Remember even with the recent fall of the dollar relative to the peso and the rise in gas prices in the states, today, gas is still $2.50 per gallon or less in Baja Norte.

Regular gas purchased at PEMEX in Primo Tapia this morning.

Last night, gasoline was the same price as the Margaritas at the Palms Grill next to the gas station, except the liquid volume was less at the Palms. The Palms had six TV screens with different sports on each and a Latin Fusion band, the PEMEX did not have entertainment.

You can get your car washed for under $5 across the street from the both of them.

One block south you can get the world's largest (and best) fish tacos from Flor at Mariscos Alegria for $2.

Why stay home?

You have a number of excellent points there! Sounds great to me. Mas tacos de pescada por favor e uno Pacifico nada mas!

Cheap gas, good cheap drinks and free entertainment, good cheap food, good cheap car wash - not a combination I can readily identify with any other place nearby the USA.

Recently experienced the same in Costa Rica, again, but it took over 7 hours of flight time and $260 RT to get there.

Of course, in fact I think I stopped at one there when returning from Oregon last year. Couldn't see out of the windshield after a week of snow and rain.

I overlooked the best part of the cheap car wash. When they are done with your car, they drive it over to the Palm Grill where you could have finished 3-4 $2.50 drinks while watching an array of sports activity for the last hour and they hand you your keys. Your fuel tank is full, your tequila intake is at max and you are ready for the road.

Three or four ounces of hard liquor and you're "ready for the road". If the carwash was really a good deal for everyone, they'd HIDE your keys. The roads around there are dangerous enough WITHOUT the DUI drivers.

Communication...clear, concise, direct and authentic.

If you want to glorify drunk driving slide back over to off-topic. Driving under the enfluence of drugs or alcohol is illegal, immoral, and anti-social. If you do it, or if as in this case, you glorify it; get used to being called out for being part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

The businesses you recommend may be wonderful places, but THIS is not the place to suggest that drinking three or four ounces of hard liquor makes ANYONE "ready for the road". I invite you to save that sort of comment for your stuff on the off-topic forum where the majority of your posts on BajaNomad can be found.

Since I am holding you accountable for being out of integrity, let me remind you that I found fault with your content, you chose to personally insult me.

Nice clear, concise proselytizing. Amen.

Tell me you have never read another post on this board about drinking? Where was your moral outrage then, sister?

Your (and Mennis') continued stalking of my posts has no place on this board. Say Amen, brother.

I am on record here as having no patience at all for those who abuse alcohol especially while driving.

If you have some defense of driving under the influence of alcohol, I'll read it. It will have to be a unique viewpoint.

I am not your sister, Gull, nor your brother.:?:

If you regularly participated on the on-topic side of these forums you'd know that from reading the "mugshots" thread.

I invite you to join the civil side of the board and post your picture on the thread.

OK, I Like Tacos, Carwashes and Margaritas

Maybe not all on the same day.

I have had my car washed at Cantamar/Primo Tapia and and had "Ladies' Day" appetizers at the Palm while waiting.

I have had very good margaritias at the Palm, also.

No car washes, appetizers or margaritas were taken in excess.

That is all.

Must be a chunky in the armor-all.

I am going on the record here and now that drinking and munching on Ladies' Day appetizers while waiting for your carwash is done, amounts to a perfectly good way to enjoy an afternoon in Baja. If I was stuck in a bunghole in NorCal, I might have a sour and bitter attitude toward those who have the luxury to enjoy Baja any day of the week. Damn car won't cooperate and get dirty, often enough. Take THAT for an official position!!!!!!! I am The Gull and I approve of this message.

Here's my mugshot -

Ignorance has always been a "curable" condition. Primo Tapia is the correct name for the area one mile south of Puerto Nuevo. Lots of US folks know it as Cantamar, since there is a small group of beach houses near there with that name. From the toll road it is one more exit south from the Puerto Nuevo exit and it is also well known for the big sand dunes that are on the south end of Primo Tapia.

Recent fall of the dollar in relation to the peso? That's news to me. Seems like it's been hovering in the 10.8-11.2 range for a couple years now.
