Images from Bike Team Try-Outs
The Lobos Marinos, the Bahia Asuncion Mountain Bike Team had their second try-outs short races yesterday. Here are some of the images with captions
from these try-outs.
I really hope I make the team!
I am going to win!
No you aren't
This is serious business
Last minute coaching from mom.
I am riding HARD
Just watch me beat you!
Oh yeah? (I love this new helmet from another Baja Nomad)
Hey, what is going on? Mr. EMAM said he would give me some photography help and here he is recruiting new students.
That's it, just push the button
(Mr. and Mrs. EMAM had great fun with the children in Asuncion--great folks they are.)
My brother, Tomas is one of the Lobos Marinos stars, but just you wait. In about one year, I will join the team.
After the try-outs, a few of the mom's gave it a try---such fun
And some of the winners---they were able to give out trophies this time!
And the Master Olympic Pose---don't think Luisa would have been happier at the Olympics.
Twas a great afternoon.

Hope to see you soon---bring bike parts.
Seriously, we hope you do make it down soon. Weather is strange right now---changes by the hour.
Oh, the BIG bike race for the district league is May 4 and it should be great. The five teams will be here and going up and over that mountain. And,
they think it will begin and end by the new stadium---your front yard!
Also, they may have a state meet here in November. You would love watching the big races.

BTW --- on one of our walks, we found a really nice fork right on Diverlandia? Did Zac perhaps lose one?
We will save it for you. Hope you get down here soon.

Even though my shots arent comparable to Diane's, I thought I'd post a few from our day spent at the Asuncion Mountain Bike Try-outs
Diane and John had billed the event as 'Fun Had By All' and they were 100% right! Everyone on main street had a big smile on their face and the mood
was very addicting
Watching the young kids was my favorite part of the event. When you see little ones like this, how can you not get a smile on your face?!
They dont care if they win or lose, they just have fun trying to act like the big kids.
It was about 50/50 between the girls and the boys when it came to attendance. It's great to see that they're just as interested as their brothers
are.
I think this little guy is going to grow up to be a photographer. He is the same kid in the picture with me that Diane posted. At one point John had
to get his fathers attention when he had hijacked his mothers camera and was trying to snap pictures right beside the grownups.
This poor guy wiped out and got his head run over by one of the girls behind him. Did it stop him? Nope, he got up and raced back to finish just
behind the leaders of the heat.
This yound man will be a force to contend with in a few years when his muscles catch up to the Lance Armstrong legs he had.

Ok, I'm still figuring out Photobuckets new upload procedures, so those images are a tad small
Maybe these will be a bit better?
Here is Tomas crossing the finish line in true "Bad Boy" style
Last minute helmet adjustments
OOPS! Maybe she needed a helmet adjustment too
Enjoying their after race delights!
John handing helping distribute the trophies to the winners!
Cant wait to get back to Asuncion and see the next series of races. Maybe next time I'll put the camera down and get the bike off the rack. Lord
knows I could use the exercise...LOL

Priceless, just priceless! Thanks so much for sharing your good and fun work with this group. Keep em coming.
I am wondering if there is some way to contribute to this effort? I know that this is just the sort of thing that Nomads love to support.
Trophies this time!! Yea!

Thanks EMAM for the pictures. The team really enjoyed our CDs --thanks for taking the time to burn one for them before you two left town!
We very much enjoyed your company and we were really happy you had a great time with the team. Looking forward to your return.
Good story on your blog on your website about leaving here---about how slow it can be when pulling trailer---recommended reading for all.
IFLYFISH,
When we go back to the states, I may look into paypal---don't know much about it.
On another thread, I mentioned that they always need parts to keep the bikes going. Today I also found out that they really need some newer special
tools---special bike tools as theirs are falling apart---extractors, chain repair tools etc., so if anyone has any around, please let us know.
Looking forward to the next BIG race here in May. They have improved the mountain course with more hills involved. Anyone who likes to ride
mountain bikes and are visiting here would be welcome practicing with some of the team.

Well, now I'll sleep better knowing that I'm in your good graces
Thanks for the compliments on the photos, and Cindy and I are already thinking we might be back sooner than later. Our first trip to the grocery
store told us that we really cant afford to live int he United States on our limited budget
