Too bad they have to keep repeating the 4 month old story... meanwhile, murders every day in the states... Poor Baja... she takes a beating by the press, over and over.

I am currently visiting family in Chicago... on the news last night... 20-something murders in the last two weeks! Unreal. When you hear this kind of news you must think that Baja is still pretty darn safe, huh?

The population of Chicagoland is 9.7 million, about 3 times the population of all of Baja. You don't think there were at least 20-something murders in Baja in the last two weeks? The murder rate in Mexico is 3 times the rate in the US. You can Google that up, if you like.

If you like Baja, that's OK. But don't pretend it is safer that the US. It is not.

I see that you decided to join a board about Baja just to make a statement like the one above.

Keep running that story. Traffic was very light a couple weekends ago.
Bussiness is down.
That's the way I like Baja.

I just want to know if this newbie "fulano" is from the fulano de tal family and if he's in any way related to the zutanos or perenganos. ;)

No hace *******. Is this the "Let's-slap-each-other-on-the-back-and-ignore-reality" baja message board? If you guys want to wax poetic about Baja, that's fine with me. But pretending that all the asesinatos, mordidas, s and tonterias that happen all the time in Baja doesn't exist is a disservice to the novatos.

Calderon didn't send 3,000 troops to Baja to hang piñatas.

SCREAMING BACK ON TOPIC......

the chilitos responsible were caught (according to the tortilla telegraph) and are currently lamenting their very existence. just a couple of idiots with too much time and tequila....not to mention a weapon looking for some entertainment in between bus rides to the fields....

this, based on local knowledge (not mine), and yet the entire peninsula remains a "no man's (and woman's) zone".....

Mo' Betta, Brah!

Thanks. I am not the Fulano on Baja.com. I'm Fulano Perengano. My primo is Fulano Zutano. I used to have a cuñado named Fulano Desconocido, but I think he got lost trying to sneak into Baja from Otay Mesa. He never was too bright.

Oh and in case you didn't know it, I've known your family since I was a kid; fulanito, zutanito, perenganito and theire cousin menganito, I know very well how you people operate and I must tell you that nomads won't be taken by just any fulano out there.
