Live music in Guerrero Negro?
Is there a hang-out in GN that has live music in the evenings? Also, is the Estero de San Jose (called on the AA map) have a swimmable beach?

On my '91 map Laguna Guerrero Negro is called Estero San Jose. I knew there were two names, but apparently the latter is not used anymore. Anyway,
it looks about 5 miles from town and I wanted to know if I could expect to go in the water there (or was it murky, muddy, reedy). I guess I'll just
check it out for the birding and report back.

there are several options for swimming...at high tide you can swim at the dunes by the airport...or the Posita...a local swimming hole on the bird
watching road to the old lighthouse...the best is Playa Tomatal which is just north of GN..takes about a half hour and is a great beachcombing beach
too....or laguna manuela is not that far either. Get Sirenita to show you around...live music can happen depending on the weekend and there are sports
bars..Veteranos is good, and the hotel Los Caracoles is opening a new bar/disco too which I'm sure will be fun.

Here's the old warf near the abandoned lighthouse... Laguna Guerrero Negro... The wide road out there from town goes via an elevated causeway built 50
years ago... Check it out!
PS I recall the older AAA map with the wrong estero name now that you mentioned it! It has always been Black Warrior Lagoon (Laguna Guerrero Negro)
after the English whaling vessel 'Black Warrior' that sank there... if my memory serve me correctly.
