Review wanted Ensenada's Azteca Inn

Hello

I'm looking for reviews for the Azteca Inn in Ensenada. I heard they have a large parking area w/security. How far South is it from Ensenada ? How are the rooms/service etc.? Restaurants/bars near by ?

Thanks

Paul

Let me address the restaurant question. La Malinche just opened under new management with a liquor license and full kitchen. It's operated by Patti, who has a small place in Punta Banda as well.
This isn't a review as I've not been there but, it's there for you.
Azteca Inn is located on the east side of the Trans P highway, HWY 1, in Chapultepec, just south of the turn off to Estero Beach.
The place has a good reputation, never heard anything bad. Good security. Road work in front demands drivers attention but, that's HWY 1.

Azteca is about 15 km south of downtown, on the main hwy. Never stayed there, but the place looks clean, respectable & well cared for. You want a room away from the road noise.

Walk a block north, across from the Pemex, for good tamales & spicy pickled olives.

Great Dinner Location

If you head to Ensenada on HWY 1 (right turn from the Azteca Inn), the second stoplight from the Azteca Inn, turn left and head toward the bay. Pass the left turn for the Estero Beach Resort. Continue past several stop signs/topes. When you think you are lost, on your left, there will be Mario's restaraunt. Outstanding food and margaritas!!!! A special not on the menu is Coconut Shrimp.
