Accomodations near good snorkeling
We usually stay at Santispac during our annual summer Baja sojourn but the heat and bugginess of the nights kills me. Know of any affordable, clean,
"chill" (in atmosphere and A/C!!) on the Sea of Cortez/ Bahia Concepcion area close to good snorkeling?

It's not exactly in the neighborhood you mentioned but IMHO Hotel Punta Pescadero on the east cape offers the best combination of lodging and
snorkeling on the entire peninsula.

deanj...if your heart is set on snorkeling in the Bay of Conception area, then google Mulege and you will find hotels and motels with
air-conditioning. You are right, it is very hot in the Bay from June thru October.
Here is just one Mulege site...there are other good ones.

p.s. I don't remember if Bob y Susan have AC in their casitas...?

The best place I know of is El Cardonal, you can swim to Punta Pescadero, but it's far from Mulege.

Or go to La Ventana and stay at Baja Joe's with A/C on the beach.
There is good snorkelling near the old Punta Arena Hotel, at the island and just south from Los Muertos.

Bob and Susan?
Can someone tell me about the notorious Bob and Susan? Sounds like their accomodations are well liked. Where are they?

Bob and Susan's place is located south of Mulege but north of Santispec.
Right on the water and very nice; don't think they have A/C though.

Just south of Muleje is a cool little cove with a 15 room motel and a restaurant next door. It is called San Buenaventura. They charge about $50.00 US
per night. If you want to stay longer, they have a couple of apartments for $150.00 per month. The only draw-back is that they are on generator power,
but the owner will turn on the generator when you want it, as well as turn it off when you want it. And yes, they have A/C.
