McKay was solid and understated. He understood his role as the messenger and kept the focus on the story. He and his production staff also provided
behind-the-scene info to make the most obscure event(barrel jumping, cliff diving, demo' derby) more entertaining.
McKay was very different from today's self-promoting jock barkers.

Maybe Jim McKay loved to hunt and fish. Then again, maybe he hated it. Either way, he just passed away so we have to honor his deep feelings
