Poor thief. I hope a lot of his hide is missing after being dragged around. What a sight that would have been.

Actually, I wonder how he was hanging on and why he didn't let go? And, I really hope he recovers.

It actually wasn't too long ago that criminals got PUNISHED for their crime in like kind.
A pound of cat converter for a pound of flesh. Even all around.

I'm glad though, that the perp didn't die. That would have been cruel and unusual.

Yikes, You People

I understand the glee that you feel when someone doing wrong gets an immediate dose of karma, but this was a nonviolent crime and the thief has paid in full, with heavy penalties.

The catalytic converter on our Suburban also was stolen when it was in for repairs at the Rosarito body shop. No harm to people, just the pain of paying the replacement cost.

When we talked to locals about the theft, they shrugged and said that this thievery is rampant on both sides of the border - that the chemicals in the converter are used to produce meth?

Ehh, I know nothing about that kind of thing, and I am sure the Noble Nomads know nothing about this, either.

Catalytic conveters contain small amounts of platnium and other exotic metals. Junkyards in the US (in Nevada) pay about $8.00US each. Nothing in them used to make meth, well, at least not today.

And the THIEF got what he deserved.

Jypsy Jan, I agree with you. That makes at least three times this has happened:

1. Dogs
2. That's Amore
3. This

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Punishment is one thing. Being happy about someone losing an arm (or worse) for stealing a catalytic converter is another.

I am saddened to hear this guy may not survive.

He may pay the ultimate price for his life of crime, but we all have free will to choose our path.

I find no pleasure in knowing the furthur details of this story

If this happened in the States, the guy would hire Geragos to get a huge settlement for him due to her obvious gross negligence in not checking under her car for thieves before driving off.
