Best Cheap Hotel in Tijuana?

Near or on Revolution. I need a decent place to rest and get cleaned up.

I know it seems suspicious but I really just need a place to rest a bit. I'm pretty sure I'll be alone. I'll be leaving after work and need a place to crash.
The Grand hotel looks a little to nice for me alone.
Now if my date goes "right" then it looks like a good place. That the next night.

It's the wrong kind of right. But that's alright sometimes;)

Go with the nicest place, and don't worry about splurging. You had a great time, and you'll want to stay someplace nice to remember the good times. If your lady friend wants to hang out w/you, go for a swim, or talk somplace quiet and secure, there's probably a great restaurant inside. Show her you have class.

Cheapest hotels are in the Zona Norte - but unless you're looking for what's in the Zona Norte, I'd stay away.

For cheap, there's the Hotel Catalina on 5th and the Hotel Lafayette on Revo near 3rd.

Up the scale a little bit (US$50+) and there's the Hotel Nelson on the south end of Revo, and the Hotel Villa de Zaragoza behind the Jai Alai Palace, one block off Revo:
http://www.hotellavilla.biz

In the "up the scale" territory (US$60+++), my understanding is that the Motel Premiere (a "no-tell-motel") may be one of the best values in town currently. This location isn't Downtown however, it's a few blocks from the Zona Rio. I've only seen pictures of the property thus far. I'll make you Google it.

;)

As Doug says the cheapest hotels are in the Zona Norte but he advised not to tread there. Good Advise. I have never been there of course but here is a picture of one of the finer hotels in the Zona Norte called the Hotel Coahuila. We need fdt to give us all a night-time walking tour to observe the sights. Of course with Mrs. fdt's permission. Whatever you do stay out of Adelitas Bar. It is a very dangerous place. I am told your eyes may fall out of your head in there. Anyway, that's what I have heard. And also be careful if you are told "Te voy a llevar al cielo" loosely translated it means something like they are going to take you to heaven. I have no idea what that means but it could be dangerous too.
"Stop it."

Dang, I thought this was a "Reality Training Program Place" and now I am being told it is something else. Your question to be careful with is exactually what some friends did they were careful and put forth a hard direct question of "Donde?:bounce:" I had also heard that you could go blind in there:o!!!! I stayed at the Hotel America on 4th street, about a block and 1/2 away from Ave Revolution. The place has three new computers hooked to the INTERNET at no cost to guests, and the place has a courtyard to park in for security. Basic, older, clean rooms, about $40 a night

That was back in March of this year...when I was getting my Bronco painted nearby. I got a kick out of the night desk clerk asking me if I wanted some 'company' up in my room in the evening...:o to help turn down the bed, I assumed....too bad I was over budget on the paint job...yeah, right!
