Crossing in at Tecate

Why? Why not just cross in at San Ysidro? It's not that difficult. The only tricky spot is the right turn shortly after the border. Once you're on that road it's easy.
Why add 30 or so minutes to you trip by driving all the way to Tecate.
Makes no sense.

You try to tell that to my wife !!
After a few minor hassles heading south through TJ and after the after-dark detour through town to get through the border; she just won't do TJ anymore !
Scared her enough to end her constipation !!

I like the drive from Tecate better and I have the time to be safe and peaceful. The toll road always reminds me of a Nascar race !

well....that right turn at SY has just been closed off for God knows what reason...maybe road repair? Has been closed for a good 3-4 days now so you best know your way around TJ to find your way to the free road or toll road! Oh, and that would be in broad daylight!

So go to Otay! Whe all the way to Tecate, Fishbuck???

Sorry, I never sweat going down, just the crossing coming home.
