Great pilot whale pictures Bill! They are such fun to see, and the sound is nice too. Were you up near San Bruno?

Bill (or any other Nomads) do you know if these whales beach themselves in large numbers in Baja??
It has been a rather common occurence up in Cape Cod Bay and no one seems to have the answer as to why they do it...It occurs mostly in Cape Cod Bay
around "Blackfish (the name given to pilot whales up there) Creek"
just curious

Great photos! We love those whales, they seem to be year around residents.

Yes they do. I saw a large beaching (15-20 individuals) near Punta Chivato in the late 70s. I am not aware of any since then but I witnessed that
one.

Paula...... I came across these five miles or so north of Punta Lobo.
George...... I have not heard of any pilot whale beachings on the Baja, but I am a relative newcomer.
