Failed State Redux
Quote: | Drug cartels ‘threaten’ Mexican democracy
The head of Mexico’s intelligence service has warned that the country’s democratic institutions, including the national Congress, are under threat
from powerful drugs cartels.
In one of the frankest admissions yet from a leading authority of the scale of the problem confronting Mexico, Guillermo Valdés, head of Cisen, the
government’s intelligence organisation, told the Financial Times and a small group of foreign media recently: “Drug traffickers have become the
principal threat because they are trying to take over the power of the state.” |

Senor Fulano,
Is it your full time job to find these articles? You are consistant and persistant. It amazes.
Thank you for your efforts but it seems a little one sided. Perhaps someone of your talent could find some articles that might balance the message a
little.
The sky seems to be falling and the end near in your journalistic world.
I do appreciate the truth. But maybe there are some other truths out there that are going unreported.
Just maybe.

Its only one sided because there have not been any stories or articles reporting about the cartels handing out food to the poor or repairing bridges.
Can you imagine the uproar if the chief of police and his subcommanders were killed in every major police force in the states by organized crime.
This what has happened in Mexico since last fall. Mexico is under seige and unless the Government and its forces get the upper hand, you could be
seeing a new Columbia happening right on the US border.

On this one, if you feel like you want to shoot the messenger, you don't understand the message.

The drug cartels of houses full of money. It's probably cheaper to pay to have an official killed than to bribe 'em.Many US politicans have been bought with pocket change compared to what's being
tossed around south of the border.

Fishbuck,
If you want to hear other views, nothing is stopping you from researching and posting your views.
Don't slam the messenger .... get involved yourself.

Please feel free to report them. And I promise I will not tell you to shut up. I don't try to "control the message".

Bruce,
Do you find it safer in Ensenada compared to Mulege.? What about schools and the cost of living. My friends in Mulege tell me crime is on the rise
there...

The truth will set us free.
There is a plan. The plan is in place. The Governments are executing their plan. There is also a COG or Continuity of Government Plan should there be
a complete (expected) breakdown.
It is nice to see that there is some discussion here about these issues.
So now we see that all that is happening with drug trade, currency, food and energy pricing is a cohesive pact.
The end result will be the destruction of North America as we know it and the recreation of a common union with a militaristic police state and common
currency.
If you are against this coup get involved. Take your heads out of the sand and participate in making the state lawful according to our existing laws.

it is a a little safer here. the biggest deference is that no one cartel owns the whole system here. in Mulege it is a deferent story. it is safe
enough in both places as long as you understand how things work and stay away from things that most folks don't even know exist.

And your recommendation for participatory action is......?

The actions are entirely up to you.
I can relate some personal choices, like most of you, I have reduced my dependency on banking institutions, I paid off my mortgage and have no debt. I
do not depend on gas and drive less. I garden, I save and plan for independence during increasingly tough times ahead.
I read and relate factual stories and questions patternistic lies. I look for evidence of truth and connect the dots over time. I express my concerns
and communicate them. I am peaceful but forthright. I vote, I write and speak up about issues without being forceful or aggressive.
Each of you are extremely powerful in your ability to speak, write and organize.
If you are unsure about these issues, schedule time in your day each day to research. Use Google or any search tool and practice looking for things.
Its a skill. By doing your own research you will find AP stories, Reuters stories, Independent writers, major contributors and whistleblowers and by
looking at more sources you may come to own conclusions.
It starts with knowing the current laws and your rights and standing up for yourself in your daily life pursuit.
If you don't do your own work here you are already a slave to the new world order. You are already in fear of fear itself and probably unwilling to
stand up for what is right.
There is nothing anyone can do to make you participate in making your republic free and functioning if you don't want to participate. And no one will
do it for you. If you do want to be informed and participate, please be involved, talk with friends, listen to each other, talk about war, talk about
peace, talk about torture, talk about sovereignty, talk seriously and pursue connecting the dots.
I have a great deal of faith that anyone who is a Nomad is resourceful.

Well, I'll try and find some good news. Anybody want to pitch in a good report?
I only know stuff about fishing and "ladies bars". But somehow that seems to be enough to keep me happy.

There is a lot more to Baja besides bars and fishing my friend. Do you live in Baja,Do you have investments such as land or a home here. Do you have
family here. If you can answer yes to any of these questions you really need to research what really is going on down here.
Do not worry, Baja is not being put down. Its being discussed.

Um okay.
So drug cartels are fighting it out and taking over the government. Somehow or another I should be concerned about this.
Did I miss anything? Because most of these reports say the same thing. So if there is nothing knew I'm going back to the bar until it's time to go
fishing. Girls are waiting for me.
