Where in Baja was this picture taken?

This is an easy one, and mainly just a reason for a funny story to go along with it.

Definitely Hotel California
I have a shot of the same fake watermelon.
Or course, fake watermelon is not exactly a novel thing to see...

White Angel you guessed it.

Lglg,

Whilst its no Dale Chihuly I'd be proud to own it!

The picture was taken in 2005 shortly after a renovation of the Hotel and Bar. It's business has benefited by the legend that Glen Frey (Eagles guitarist) was part owner. My first visit there was in 1997 around the time the Eagles new album "Hell freezes over" was released.

Paula and I drove the length of Baja with the plan to visit some friends that were in Cabo for a vacation. We planned to do a loop of Lands End by going into Cabo via East Cape and out via Todos Santos. Neither of us had been to Todos Santos before.

Being an Eagles fan, of course you have to make the pilgrimage to the Hotel California. Yes, we all know that it really has no connection other than the name to the Eagles. But that doesn't matter. In fact selling Eagles trinkets seems to be a cottage industry in TS.

So, we went into the Bar and began to sample the Tequilas. Well it was occupied by a bartender and about 3 other 50 something gringo couples doing the same thing that we were. As you would expect an Eagles song was playing on the sound system, and playing and playing and playing. Playing to the point that I mentioned to Paula "can you imagine that poor bartender having to serve drinks with that same sound track over and over and over" After a few drinks we were ready to pay our bill, when we paid the check I just had to ask the bartender................"Don't you get tired of hearing the same Eagles songs over and over?" and has any good employee would answer he said......." it's not too bad, ...............but I am sure glad they brought out the new album!"

We all had a good laugh and said adios.

I seem to recall there were some terrific glass "grapes" at the bar cash register that I thought would make a great photo. But, then again, they were at the bar and my judgement could have been a little bent.
Many great furnishings and accessories; but an incredibly uncomfortable bed in the room I stayed in.
