This is about Baja. This is about our children.

This video is about 16 years old. Can anyone say that the adults listened.

Pretty simplistic - and short on specific solutions. It's all "someone else's" fault.

How did she get from Canada to Brazil? What was the carbon footprint from that? Could she have donated the cost of her plane ticket to the needy?

Could she have sent her speech by satellite? Well - of course not - she's special.

Nothing - except her own priorities - is preventing her from giving all of her wealth to whomever.

And you Eugenio? I invite you to share with us the ways in which you are doing more for the planet then she is, and how this entitles you to be so critical of the actions of four 12 and 13 year olds back in 1992. You must REALLY be something special if you have a legitimate right to be so judgemental of HER.

Vga:
I have no problem with the speech of the young Girl in 1992.
My concern is the information that she is attempting to get across in that speech.

Yes, there are still starving Children in many parts of the world, as there will always be as there are parents who will not/care not of their Children.

I do not beleive in all of the information presented by the various groups that try to Scare and Convince the Weaker of our Present Generation that the "Sky is Falling""for the sake of controlling through Fear.
The Sierra Club, The Whale Watchers, The Greenpeace Bunch, and may others who present information void of FACTS.

It does appear to me that this young Girl was "Brainwashed "a a very young Age.

Yes, some need to be reminded of the old Native American adage: we borrow our world from our children and grandchildren.

Some also think it wise to leave our children mountains of financial debt, a polluted world, dwindling and overexploited resources, crumbling infrastructure, and never-ending war. Then these same "citizens" attack those of us who would like to leave our children a different world.

Yes, I realize that every scientist in the world other than the 3 on the payroll of exxon-mobil and the hannity/limbaugh propaganda crowd are all "brainwashed".

I, for one, hope that our children can find it in their hearts to forgive us for leaving them the world in such sad shape...

(expect PJC, Beercan, & MrBill to check in any time now)

And who has a greater vested interest in the future of the world, a 12 year old child with optimism and hope, or a bunch of cynical, burned out, old has beens with nothing left to contribute now that they've used more than their fair share?

GO BEARS!

I wonder who thought up the idea of finding a teenager to read the speech he/she wrote. Pretty slick and her delivery was excellent. Perhaps she wrote it but I would bet against it.

I don't think she said anything untrue and to the original poster's question:

"Can anyone say that the adults listened?"

The answer is Yes, of course. The green movement is alive and well and growing.

Sure there are some who deny the obvious but they're of the ilk that voted against desegregation, equal rights, etc. generations ago, and are the most afraid, and brainwashed.

Now!Now! Children:
Have you forgotten"Free Speech"??

I do wonder at the mind level of the Generation that cruise the Malls all day with their Ipod, never observing what is going on around them,so caught up in Tatoos, Piercing, Nudity, Sex, DOPE, and listening to the Likes of Ward Churchill a Typical Liberal College Prof.!!!

Texas--Not Arizona- But as a young Police Officer in Hollywood in the late 50's I did learn that the most Physical, Mental, Degenerate People in the World Lived in and around Hollywood! An then when I was transferred to South Central, I found it a much better place to work, but I would bet that you would not last in Either place very Long with your inabilities to see what goes on around you.

Comon- Start Thinking instead of Reacting-Other people have different Ideas than you!! Are you the only RIGHT Person on this Board.
