Check out this site with private weather stations in Mexico.
Apparently many folks broadcast their weather.
It would be wonderful to have a "Baja only" website compiling these and some of our own weather observations, city by city.

I think this is a great idea...I often hope to see a weather update here...it is valuable to us because for example if it is raining somewhere close
to us and the wind is blowing in our direction...well we might get the rain too..and it would be very up to date. I would love to see a weather check
in every morning...a daily post where we can check in and post our weather too.

Water temp! I hadn't considered that as one of the likely measurements. Are you measuring that personally? How?

Partly cloudy, 80 degrees, a bit humid and water is oh I'd guess 75 degrees and a 6'SW swell...light SW breeze maybe 5 knots...perfect for Juan &
Timo and Ed who are out fishing...yum fish eyes for lunch!

There have been many times during hurricane seasons that it would have been helpful to know the conditions on the other side of the peninsula from us.
Our evacuation route crosses the peninsula before heading north up the SOC side-the same path the storms frequently follow.
We hate to cut our time short by packing up and leaving prematurely, only to have the system take a left turn or poop out. But if we wait too long and
rains start in the mountains, we can have trouble crossing the river or arroyos and can get stuck for a week or more (not good for work relations back
NOB). This won't be an issue after retiring next year because we won't have to leave- yipee!
Erring on the side of caution, there have been a bunch of times that conditions could have gotten sketchy so we packed up and drove over to B.
Concepción (7-8 hour drive each way) for the night then turned around the next day, after receiving the most current weather fax, and headed back to
Punta Pequeña because we still had vacation time left!
We've had a radio weather fax in our camper for many years but it doesn't always reveal the "should we stay, or go" details necessary to make a
decision. Before the fax we spent many days huddled around the weather radio at 8am and 3pm waiting for the mechanical voice, desparate for
information. Most reliable was always the Chubasco net and other Ham radio nets that provided current weather conditions from boaters around Baja,
but it was only broadcast once per day and lots could happen in the 23 hrs. between broadcasts.
Now with internet access in our Baja casita the ol weather fax hasn't been used for quite a while. But even the exhaustive amount of storm info and
forecasts on the internet can't provide the info that someone in Loreto or Mulege could with their onsite reports which could help us decide if we
should stay, or hightail it out of there.
BigWoo and I are weather geeks and have the gadgets to measure and observe the conditions. I use a pool thermometer for water temp checks for fun, and
because one day of wind can dramatically change the water temp in our area, depending on it's direction. The ocean can be a hot tub one day, and full
wetsuit the next. Jump in the water and Suprise !
But we'd only be part time correspondents for a month here and there for this next year so I couldn't offer consistent reporting Larry.

Why not add the UV index too? Most home weather stations have them- and let you know how strong the sun is (UV Index).
Are there other nomads like me that moved to the baja coast to enjoy the marine layer, not the inland scorchers?

That site must be new and looks like THE place to go for all the information you need.
I dont have any sophisticated equipment. One thermometer was bought from Orchard Hardware 8 years ago and has chile peppers on it. The other is on a
weather station from the 90's. It has a clock, a thermometer, hygrometer and barometer. How accurate they are I couldnt say. One day we will get
our anemometer installed and I can quote wind speed.
But for now it is 85 on my porch(chile verified). humidity 50%(I will have to keep a closer eye on this as it may not be working) and 29.8". Light
breeze.
The water was cooler today than yesterday and felt great after a walk on the beach where it was definitely over 85. Calm too.
