What is the status of the paving?

I will have photos up later today (or soon)... Pavement ends just beyond Puertecitos on a new bypass route with big construction ongoing to La Costilla, then just real rough, rocky road base on to Gonzaga (allow 3.5 hours from Puertecitos in a light vehicle). This is not a lot of fun to drive as you can't get up much speed with the big rocks in the roadbed. The views are great, however!

Gasoline at Gonzaga Pemex had to be metered through a can as the pump reading was off... Closed for Siesta time/ lunch time, will got 21 litres (5.5 gal.) after our early dinner at Alfonsina's... US$17.00 ($3.09/ gal.).

Gonzaga to Hwy. 1 is faster, but some major washouts from Saturday's flash floods... but passable in 2WD. This was 2 days ago (9-1-08). 1.5 hrs. from Gonzaga to Hwy. 1.
