Herradura! It is one of the last 'small batch' hand made Tequilas and it is ALWAYS a good bet. I love it in margaritas!!

There is an Almond flavored Tequila that I've only found on the mainland, does anyone know what it's called and where to find it in Baja? Thanks

Another vote for
the Herradura Anejo.... and their Reposada is pretty good also.

If you're making this purchase in Tijuana, check out the Tequila prices at the Gigante store across the street from the duty free store. Better
prices on some stuff. They have the $200 quality at Gigante too.

Start a new list
On the top would be Penca Azul Reposado and second would be Penca Azul Anejo, then Cabo Wabo Reposado, then Patron Anejo, then Herradura Anejo, then
the floor or bed, whichever was closer.

Duty Free
The three listed on that website are all run by the same people, except one (not listed) that is across the street from the Border Village location.
Buying tequila there is not the lowest cost, but it is the lowest cost place for fine Scotches, Vodka and Liquers.

Debra,
Tequila Orendain has a "Almondine" (otherwise known as the "big guy" in our circle of Bajalchoholics)flavored tequila which is usually available on
the peninsula--don't know if that's what you thinking of though.....by the wayTequila Orendain Anejo--yah, the cheap stuff you find everywhere with
the clay shooter cup attached--gets my all around vote for bang for the buck--its not cognac but it goes down easy! Not too good for mixing
though.....

what's the savings
it would be nice to see how the prices at this duty free store compare to large super mercados pricesin Mexico...why don't they give a price list on
their website??? I work at SFO and I see that any local super market or liquor store beats Duty Free shops any day...

Debra, as Mexitron mentioned...
The most popular version of Tequila Almendras or Almendrada is made by Orendain and it is sold at many corner liquor stores in Ensenada. It is a
really nice sweet sipper (more like a liqueur) I also have a friend that uses it in margaritas to give them an interesting unique flavor.

For a real treat try Agavero. A true tequila liqueur. Made with tequila and damiana tea. Outstanding!

meme, the locations can be found on the link that I posted, above.
I'll give you an example of the pricing. The Herradura Anejo sells for $94 Stateside and the duty free store has it for $32. the Herradura Reposado
sells for $70+ Stateside and duty free has it for $22. Scotch, bourbon, gin, vodka are all very inexpensive - unbelievable prices!
