Tecate-Guererro Negro leg

We left El Cajon this morning, crossed at Tecate at around 7 this morning...put the pedal to the metal and filled our tank in El Rosario at 11:45...outta ER by 12:30 after lunch at Mama's...stomped it!...lots of new hwy between ER and Catavina...good, wide pavement that suddenly drops to graded gravel..but no bad spots..cruised into Catavina around 2ish and didn't even blink...whooped it up into GN this afternoon at 4...NO TRAFFIC...'course it IS Sunday, so that counts...but...we'll be home tomorrow, and THAT's what counts...fun trip

That's exactly what it takes us, Tecate to GN = 9 hours. I find the stretch between Ensenada and SQ very boring. We gas up at Ensenda and ER and then again GN, where we overnight.

New Pemex????? Only have seen the older one there???

On edit---opps, I forgot and John just reminded me they are building a new one south of town----- We usually are not going south. :saint:

mulegemicheal,

You were moving.:lol: We always return via Tecate and enjoy that drive through the mountains.

Takes us longer, but we also stop more for us and for the dogs.

Sounds like you are really happy to be returning and that is good.

Nothing better than heading south once you pass El Rosario. Better than Disneyland!
