Ken,

That erosion is very unique. I don't think I have seen anything like it adjacent to the ocean!

Thanks for posting.

Thank you all for the nice comments. The geology of those islands is really striking. akbear this was a dive trip, here's the best I can do for a fish report (this is from Roca Partida):

I believe the fishing has been stopped several years back to create a marine preserve.

Awesome, Ken, just awesome.

This one has some of the characteristics of a night picture, don't you think? One of great things about a late evening or night sky are the shades of blue as the sky goes from light, near the horizon or moon, to dark. With the land below being jet black. And this picture is beautiful in that same way.

Great composition too. I like that dark pillar on the right with the small reef fish and rock on the bottom left. Adds interest to the image and anchors it. I can stare at it forever. There's a sense of awe and peace about the scene.

Thanks Igor, I've always liked this one too. Very moody. Roca Partida is a magical place, just a little pinnacle that barely breaks the surface. But underwater - LOADED with life. Appreciate your comments, ++Ken++

Pacifico - yes, I was on the Solmar V out of Cabo San Lucas. Big attraction was the mantas at Isla San Benedicto.

Bluewater vs. dusk sky

Ken,

This is what I was thinking about. These two places couldn't be further apart (looking up from a baja canyon) and yet feel very similar to me.

I like your blue more, though.

Thanks Nena! Igor that's a beautiful image. I see what you mean, same "moody blues" as in my Roca Partida photo, the clouds even look like a water surface. Good stuff!! ++Ken++
