And we should remember that corrupt police work with the narcos on both sides of the border- not just the south side.

"Fifteen Illinois law enforcement officers were arrested yesterday (Dec 2) in an FBI sting on charges that included accepting cash in exchange for providing armed protection for drug-dealing operations in south-suburban Chicago.

Patrick Fitzgerald, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, described the charges as "particularly shocking." He said two of the officers helped an undercover FBI agent unload and deliver duffel bags stuffed with drugs that had been flown in on a private plane."

It is considered common knowledge in the DEA that the drug trafficking has been so successful only with the help of law enforcement on both sides of the border. My son-in-law is in law enforcement and was invited to join a drug task force in central California. He declined when he was advised that some members of that same task force were suspected to be working both sides of the fence and might present a greater danger to him than the cartels themselves.

Offer enough money and you will discover how many that wear a badge will accept it - no matter what side of the border they are on. To me it's just another reason to look at legalization. Wish it wasn't that way but I have just become less idealistic and more pragmatic as the years go by...

Folks,
Remember when the CIA was dealing cocaine for guns in Nicaragua/Panama????

Remember poor Oliver North and Gang????

Governmentally-sanctioned drug dealing is not news....its "old" information....

I know now that my memory was short. I had forgotten all about Ollie North.
