What kind of tackle for shore fishing in the Asuncion area?

We have servicable surf casting gear, and I have been reading here of decent catches from the shore. As part of the cost reductions necessary for our econo-juant this year, I don't think we'll buy fishing licenses. That's like 500 miles worth of diesel! What do I want to throw into the surf, or donate to the rocks?

Well, most people I see out there normally have a Tecate nearby.

Scampi's and Krocs work well, too.

No license needed to fish the surf, at least that`s the way it was a few years ago. But try to upgrade your old tackle. The fish you will lose with old stuff will infuriate you!!!
