Two shots from home.

I wanted to share a couple of photos that our neighbor emailed to me tonight. I think they're pretty cool.

When we pulled in over the winter break we were met by this beautiful flower at our back gate behind our house. It's really amazing to see up close in person. Jamee captured it for us in a photo:

Her second photo is of the giant moon that we had just a few nights ago, taken from our roof deck:

I wondered what it looked like down there, and now I know.

Thanks Jamee,

B.G. Your new photo gave me a start! I wasn't expecting that! Thanks for the comment. I thought they were pretty great too, but then I am a bit partial!

Those are great pictures---thanks. The second one just sends out messages of calm resting in a paradise.

Now, do you think we should have a contest to find a softer, kinder, and gentler avatar mug shot for Baja Gringo? This new one makes one jump out of their seat.

Hi Ken,

We're in the States. Wish I were "home". I guess I was a bit homesick, that's why I wanted to post the photos I got via email today. If you have any plans to dive in the near future, give us a ring!

Wow! That succulent is incredible. The succulent was my mom's favorite. We have a century plant on our front porch in Baja that was there in 1960 when my folks bought the place and it gets cut back every decade or so and just springs back to life. In 40+ plus years we saw it bllom once, so far.

So I might have another 40 years to go before I see it bloom again??? Oh no, another reason to add to the positive side of the list for moving back! I've got to enjoy that blooming plant NOW!

That is a cool shot of our fish, Matt. Thanks! You have a creative eye. Have fun on your stag adventure. I know after a trip with you, they'll be hooked.

Fantastic bloom there... I have been growing those succulants for 20 years and I have yet to have one of mine bloom.

But, I have had a big blue agave shoot up at 35-foot bloom once, then it died after that.

Ours was planted maybe 8 years ago, gets plenty of water from everyone's runoff, and cigarette butts from our neighbors...you never know what makes 'em happy.

I just went out and told Dern that we're missing out on a once in a life time deal. I told him that Matt's has only bloomed once in 40 years, and Bob H has been waiting 20 years already. We need to be there right now!

He said, "Yeah, I'll get right on it."

Something tells me we're not going anywhere soon.
