Mini Trip to Secret Beach near Asuncion

After a hard day at the rock pile, Juan wanted to relax for the afternoon at our secret beach a few miles from town. The weather was perfect, nice and warm, 12 knots of wind and sunny so we fired up the mesquite wood for a chicken BBQ and went for a lovey dip in the glittering sea.

This is me doing some yoga while Juan polishes his truck....I just love the view from down there!

this photo is for you David K and all you toyota lovers

then after some reading, a tecate and another dip we enjoyed the pollo asado and the sunset...the perfect ending for a wonderful mini trip.

Another reason I love living in baja sur....spectacular mini trips are possible any day of the week!

Thanks for the Toyota photo... if you had said "this is for you David K" and put a photo of Juan in his bikini... well, that wouldn't be as much fun!:o

Are you prepared to hear from the anti beach driving crowd?;D

Looks like a fun time Shari! Wish that Elizabeth and I were there, too!

Okay, as you can all see it's beach weather in Bahia Asuncion.
As you may know, I have an airplane scheduled to fly down to Guerrero Negro next weekend for whale watching. So if the weather stays the same it will be perfect.
I got a brand new medical certificate yesterday and the doctor said he's never seen a better specimin of a man in his whole career.
I will fly the plane tomorrow for about an hour.
So all I need is a few share expense passengers and the trip is on.
Perfect beach weather. I can't plan a better trip for you.

The water is getting cooler now...ya gasp a bit when you first dive in but your ankles dont get knumb which is when it gets dicey for me going swimming...so I figure it's about 68 degrees or so...nice for cooling off and boogie boarding but cold for snorkeling....halibut are starting to move into San roque beach now...yeeeehaw

Shari,

Nice beach. I like your pants. The rock in the background looks like a mix between Jabba the Hut and a rock fish with bulging eyeballs.

Thanks for sharing your day.

BMG, great shot. Thanks for the laugh.

Me too. I really miss the hour or so it took to drive less than 20 miles home from work.

I remember doing that drive every day. That was a large part of what drove me to move south of the border...

Thank you all..Paulina, I just knew YOU could appreciate my fashion statement...OK, I admit, I sneaked these pants out of one of the bags AwfulArt brought for the unfortunate folks...busted!
Weather continues to be fantastic all week...but our trip to the more remote Secret Beach must be postponed due to the arrival of BajadanD, Skipmac and Ibannie...so we will be forced to remain here to party with them.
