Evening Elephant Trees

Hope these are not too dark---were fine on my laptop, but as usual, dark on this ancient cafe monitor.

I Love Elephant trees---so different and such efficent survivors.

Will someone get that old lady off the road.:lol:

Thanks---interesting that you three agree that you like number three the best---I like it, but it was not my favorite. May have to change my mind.

REMOVED THE SECOND SERIES----THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK, IT IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED.:yes:

The second series of pix is way too faded or desaturated.
I like #3

I agree the third one in the series is your most successful.

Diane, it looks like you tried to make the images lighter by making the brightness adjustment in photoshop (or other software). Unfortunately that's what always happens. Whether you brighten and image or darken it the "luminosity" of the image starts to go. And you can't fix it by using the 'contrast' adjustment.

The way to accomplish what you are trying to do is to create luminosity masks and apply them over the captured image. I personally have never done it but I've seen the results and they're pretty impressive if done correctly. Here's a tutorial on how to do it:

Thanks for the comments and thanks for the tip, Igor.

Think I may do away with the second series and just stick with the first group and look at them again when I am at home with my other computer.

Think I am beginning to like number 3 better---:lol:

So Diane, before everyone liked no. 3.... which one did you like best?
btw my vote also went to 3 and to the first series.

OK, my favorite WAS number 5---but after 14 hours on the road, I am too tired to argue.:lol:

Can't wait to get back and keep trying---have not got exactly what I was looking for--

Thanks Nancy---appreciate it. I think 5 is still my favorite---

I like number 6 only because everywhere I go to try and capture an idea or thought, there is this stalker who keeps taking pictures of me taking pictures!:yes:

What a beautiful shot!! I love the soft blue light and the magnificent shade on the tree. It's the light, always the light. There is something haunting about this tree and the light. Great shot.
