In a word “not” because Hit and Run in any country even if you later report it will probably land you in jail. That is unless there was an exigent
circumstance such as trying to evade, let's say, Kidnappers. Of course the burden of proof is on you to prove that, like bullet holes in your car,
etc. That said, you may still go to jail.

The very worst thing that you can do is to leave the scene of an accident in Mexico. I even had a friend whose wife was hurt in an accident so he
took her immediately to the hospital and he ended up being fined for leaving the scene. For some reason they take this very seriously here and I have
had police officers suggest that you send an injured person to the hospital with someone else or wait eons for the ambulance.

Agree with the others that it is not good advice. Also, I would question if your insurance would be valid if you left the scene and did not get a
police report until later.

The very worst thing you can do is to get caught doing the very worst thing you can think up.
Mexicans without insurance do it. Had it happen to me.
